Ceder Inlay
of Texas into Limestone w/ Gold Star:
Rough cut cedar inlaid into limestone.
This design came about like a few of the other Texas designs. It
was originally designed with hopes of being placed in the Bob Bullock
Texas State History Museum, but the people who do the "dealings" there
had different ideas. My idea was to make available a "piece
of Texas" that people could take home with them. So, this is
ONLY AVAILABLE THROUGH "STONE CRY "DIRECT! This particular
stone was sold at an auction for $350.00. We were proud of that!!
Description:
This stone design has several steps involved in the final product.
The stone is made of Texas white limestone and has the State of Texas
design hand carved out of it. Inlaid inside the carved out portion
is a piece of rough cut cedar wood that is protected by a clear sealer.
Inside the cedar is a gold colored star which symbolizes "The
Lone Star State". This can be left inside by the fireplace,
on a bookshelf or a table as a conversation piece. It can be placed
outside because the weather should not effect it....if anything it
will make it more "rustic".
Dimensions:
The shape of Texas is approximately 5 1/2 inches tall and approximately
5 1/2 inches wide( from the piney woods of East Texas to El Paso)
